Home Remedy for Sun Burn

Milk is also a good remedy for sunburn. To get relief apply on the affected area using cloth.

Applying ice to the burned area is also beneficial.

Open a piece of an Aloe Vera plant and apply the gel to the affected area. The juice can be applied by gently using a cotton ball. Apply as often as needed for an excellant natural home remedy for sunburn.

Sliced pieces of raw cucumber or potato when applied to the affected area reduce inflammation of the skin.

Application os sandal wood paste to the area will provide rellief from the burning sensation.

Mix together of plain yoghurt and 2 tablespoons of rosewater.Apply where it hurts to soothe and cool.

In a bowl, mix tomato juice and buttermilk, in the ratio of 1:6. Apply this on the sun burnt area. Wash it after 30 minutes.

In a blender, mix 2 tomatoes and 1 cucumber and make a puree. To this, add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this paste over the suntanned and sun-burnt skin.

A mixture of honey and lime is effective in treating sunburn. In 2 tbsp of honey, add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this over the affected area. It would help lighten the tan and ease off the pain as well.

In 3 tablespoons of milk, add 1 tbsp of turmeric powder. Apply this all over the affected area. Once dry, wet it a little and rub in circular motions, before rinsing it off with cool water.

Home Remedy for Eye Pain

Causes for Eye Problems:

Reading in inadequate light,
Working on Computer for long periods,
Watching television from close,
Inadequate diet specially the diet deficient in vitamin A

Home Remedy:

Daily intake of walnut for a few days reduces the weekness of eye.

Place s slice of cucumber on each eye for some time.

Carrot juice is good for eyes.It contain vitamin A and essential to maintain good eyesight.

Eating spinach will help in preventing various eye problems.

Washing the eyes with cold water will give relif from strain and will soothe the eye.

Home Remedy fot Toothache

Cotton wool soaked in either Onion or garlic juice can be used to plug and disinfect the cavity. It is highly beneficial in curing all the teeth problems.

Chewing leaves of guava tree will also provide relif from pain.

A pinch of pepper and ¼ tsp of common salt prevents dental cavities, foul breath, bleeding from the gums, painful gums, and toothaches.

Put an ice cube on the aching tooth or on the nearest cheek for 15-20 minutes at least 3 or 4 times a day.

Gargle a glassful of water mixed with 1 tsp of salt after each meal and at bedtime.

Placing a clove of garlic with little rock salt on the affected tooth helps relieve or even cure the pain.

This rich source of vitamin C prevents tooth decay and also provides toothache pain relief.

Home Remedy for Soar Throat

Mix a cup of warm water, 2 tsp. honey and the juice of one lemon and sip.

The leaves of holy basil have also been found beneficial in the in curing sore throat. Water boiled with basil leaves should be taken as a drink, and also used as a gargle to relieve a sore throat

Melt 2-3 teaspoons of salt to one glass of water, gurgle the salty water in your throat and on the infected area.

Home Remedy for Cold

One lemon should be diluted in a glass of warm water, and a teaspoon of honey should be added to it. This should be taken once or twice daily.It is ideal remedy fpor cold and cough.

Drink ginger tea. It can be made by boiling ginger in normal tea.

Home Remedy for Cough

Fill one cut lemon with black pepper powder and salt suck it to reduce the intensity of cough.

A combination of honey and grape juice is highly beneficial for cough.

Gargling with warm spinach juice is very helpfull in dealing with dry cough.

Chew 4 leaves of holy basil and 4 black peppers to prevent cough and other respiratory aliments.

Mix equal amount of honey and lemon grass juice then drink to reduce the coughs.

Add a little ginger juice to a teaspoon of honey and take for relief.

Drinking mint tea with a little salt is beneficial in cough. This will completely remove cough.

If the cough is severe, take hot black coffee without milk. This is beneficial for the treatment of cough.

If you have cough, soar throat and a congested chest, take hot water with salt in it. Suck on a piece of turmeric. It will provide relief cough.


Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach, and has many possible causes.

Gastritis Causes

Irregular or excessive eating, excessive intake of strong tea, coffee, or alcoholic drinks;
Worry, Anxiety, grief, and prolonged tension, Digestive Disorders, Improper bowel movements


Rice gruel is an excellent remedy for acute cases of gastritis
Fasting for two of three days or more and should adopt an all-fruit diet for the next three days and take juicy fruits such as apples, pears, grapes, grapefruit, oranges, pineapple, peaches, and melons.
Pea size Ginger along with salt will also reduce the acid.
Chilled milk 5 minutes before food will reduce the pain.

Method for rice gruel: Take about 1 tablespoon rice, wash well and put in about 3 cups water. Let it cook. Stir from time to time. Add slightly more water as per thickness. In about 15 mins when the rice is cooked, mash it well into the water. Stir to a slightly thick consistency. Strain to eliminate film. Serve warm. 1 Cup urad dal,

3 Cups rice,

1 Spoon ginger(Paste),

1/2 cup onions (chopped),

1/2 cup chopped tomato,

Chopped coriander leaves.

3 Chopped green chillies,

Salt to taste,

oil or ghee


1. Wash urad dal and rice separately.

2.Soak in water for 3 hours in two bowls.

3.Blend them separately to smooth paste using some water.Mix them and add the salt.Keep it for the whole night.

4.Mix the batter well next morning till it is sufficiently thick.

5.Mix the green chillies,tomato, onion, coriander leaves and ginger in a bowl.

6. Drop one cup of batter on a heated tava.Add a spoonful of ghee or oil,garnish with chopped onion,coriander leaves,green chilli,tomato.

7.Fry both sides on low flame.

8.Rub the tava gently with damp cloth to cool the surface,repeat the above step.

Note:Adjust ingredients according to taste.

Potato curry


4 to 5 potatoes cooked
1 Onion chopped lengthwise
1 Tomato finely chopped
3 to 4 chillies chopped lengthwise
Mustard seeds
Urid dal
Tamarind extract
Ginger garlic paste (optional)
Curry leaves
Garam Masala


1. Heat oil in pan, crack mustard seeds, jeera, urid dhal. Then addcurry leaves, green chillies, onion, tomato and fry until tender.
2. Add 2 cups of tamarind extract and bring it to boil. Then add garam masala, salt
3. Add chopped potatoes and let it cook for few minutes then add half cup of yougurt mix well and leave it for few minutes in simmer.
4. Garnish with cilantro and serve with chapathi or bread.

Mixed Veggie Chapathi


1 grated carrot
1 grated raddish
Grated cucumber
3 to 4 green chillies finely chopped (optional)
3 cups of wheat flour
Ginger Garlic paste (optional)
Cumin seeds


1. In a bowl mix all the above ingredients and make a soft dough.
2. Leave it covered by damp cloth for half an hour.
3. Divide the dough and roll into chapathi and fry both the side on tawa.
4. Soft and healthy chapathi is ready to Serve.

Egg Burji


2 Eggs
1 Onion chopped
1 Tomato chopped
3 to 4 green chillies chopped
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Urid dhal
Chana dhal
Pepper powder


1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, urid, chana, green chillies , onion, tomato and fry few minutes.
2. Add pinch of turmeric, salt, pepper and mix well
3. Break the eggs directly into the pan and let the eggs start to set before stirring/scrambling this will give you large fluffier pieces otherwise smaller.
4. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or chapthi.

For Dandruff

The use of a teaspoon of fresh lime juice for the last rinse, while washing the hair, is another useful remedy. This not only leaves the hair glowing but also removes stickiness and prevents dandruff.

The juice of snake gourd has been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of dandruff. The juice should be rubbed over the scalp for this purpose.

The hair should be washed twice a week with two tablespoons of green gram powder mixed with half a cup of curd.

Mix 2 teaspoons pure vinegar in 6 teaspoons water and apply it on the scalp before going to bed. Tie a towel around the head. Wash your head next morning. After shampooing, rinse again with vinegar water. Treat your hair like this once a week for at least three months.

Massage the scalp with almond oil. Dip a towel in boiling water and wrap it around the hair. Repeat it thrice or four times when the towel gets cold.

Make a shampoo by mixing 100g each of amla (Indian goose berry), reetha, and shikakai, and boil in two litre of water until the liquid reduces to half. Use this shampoo for one month. Dandruff will vanish and your hair will become thick.

Soak 2 tablespoons fenugreek seeds in water overnight. In the morning grind into a fine paste. Apply all over scalp and leave for ½ an hour. Wash with mild shampoo.

Bread Sandwich


3 Bread slices
1 Boiled Egg
Cucumber sliced
Tomato sliced small
Big Onion sliced small
Cheese slices
Red Pepper
Black Pepper


1. Toast both the sides of the breads on tawa using butter. Make sure that the bread doesn’t become hard. Just a light toast is enough.
2. Take one of this bread and keep a cheese slice on top of it and Cut the boiled egg into small pieces and spread it over the cheese, sprinkle Black pepper on top.
3. Cover with other bread slice. On top of this slice add sliced cucumber, Onion, Tomato, Lettuce and apply Mayonnaise on top of these vegetables and cover using the third bread slice.
4. Press lightly together using your palm and serve.

For Hair Loss

Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil, is considered a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth.

The application of coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair roots is also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. It nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth. Coconut milk is prepared by grinding the coconut shavings and squeezing them well.

Soak a towel in hot water and squeeze lightly. Cover your hair with this for 10 minutes and do try this for almost a week. apply a little almond oil before taking hot towel steam.

Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, milk, salads, fruits, and sprouts in your diet. Consume enough proteins, yeast, wheat germ, buttermilk, whole grains, nuts, soya beans, and milk.

For Pigmentation

Grind five almonds and mix with 1 teaspoon of fresh cream and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this paste to the face and neck. Leave on for about fifteen minutes.

Apply papaya juice, or mashed papaya, to the affected areas.

Make a paste from basil (tulsi) leaves and water to use on the affected skin.

For Smooth,Clear and radint Complexion

Mix equal quantities of cucumber juice, rose water and lime juice. Wash the face and apply it overnight. Rinse off in the morning. This clears the complexion and keeps it healthy.

Take 50 ml. of raw (not boiled) milk and mix a pinch of salt and two teaspoonful of lime juice in it. Use it as a cleansing lotion. It helps to clean the deep pores of skin.

Mix equal quantities of lime juice, glycerin and rose water. This lotion if applied to the face regularly at bed time is very useful in removing pimples, blackheads and other stains of the skin. It makes the skin soft, and can also be applied to other parts of the body (hands, feet etc.)

Take 50 ml. of tomato juice and mix with one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture to the face. It helps to make the skin soft and glowing.

Apply orange juice to the face for smooth and soft skin.

Make a paste of raw carrots and apply it to the face. Wash it after one hour. The skin will become glowing.

How to avoid Sunburn

The usual advice for sunscreen is:

* Apply it 30 minutes before going out.

* Reapply it whenever necessary - like you’re sweating or you’ve been in the ocean or pool.

* A Sunscreen Protection Factor [SPF] of 15-30 means that 94% of the sun’s rays are blocked.

* An SPF of 30+ means that 97% of the UV rays are blocked.


The best treatment for sunburn is aloe vera gel. It efficiently relieves the discomfort of sunburn and, in many cases, even stops the damaged skin from peeling.Break off a aloe eaf and split it open. Squeeze out the clear gel and apply to the burn. Put any excess gel into a jar and keep in the fridge to re-apply to the burn when needed.

Milk is also a good remedy for sunburn. To get relif apply on affected area using cloth.

Applying ice to burned area is also beneficial.

Mix 2 Spoons of honey with lime juice and apply over the sunburned area.

Wrinkle Remover


1 egg white, beaten
2 teaspoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
A few drops sweet almond oil

Combine ingredients and apply to face. Allow to remain on for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Mash banana and apply the paste on your face. Keep it for at least 15 to 20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water. This also helps in treating your wrinkles.

For Pimples

Papaya is a best cure for pimples. Take a piece of ripe papaya (not over ripe) and mash it to get a paste. Apply this paste on your face. If it is not very ripe, put it on pimples only because the white milk existing in papaya may produce irritation to other areas of your face. After 20 min. wash your face.

Take Tulsi or Basil leaves and grind it adding a little water. Apply this on acne area and face.

Take 30-40 Neem leaves and boil in one litre of water until the liquid turns to half.
Drink three-four tablespoons of this syrup daily.

Wash your face thrice a day and apply calamine lotion on the pimples.

In gram flour add curds (yogurt) and make paste and apply on face, before it dries completely rub that. Do this for every two days.

Warm honey and mix gram flour and apply this paste to face. Wash with warm water after it dries.

Avoid taking oily food, sweets, fries, and potatoes. Take fresh fruits and other fresh vegetables with your diet.

For Healthy Eyelashes

Olive Oil/Castor Oil

You can apply castor oil or olive oil on your eyelashes to make it beautiful and long. Apply it with a clean mascara brush on your eyelashes. Make sure the oil doesn’t get inside your eyes


Applying glycerin mixing it with castor oil will make the eyelashes strong, beautiful and long. Apply it at night, leave it overnight and wash off in the morning.


Applying Vaseline at night is helpful. If you apply mascara and eye liners then wash them off carefully before application of Vaseline.

Tips: Put away the eyelash curler and cheap mascara. If you regularly apply mascara and then curl your lashes, you are most likely breaking the lashes away. Mascara dries on your lashes and the torque of the curler simply makes your lashes break. If you must curl your lashes, curl your bare lashes and then apply a quality mascara to ensure eyelash health.

Home Made Facial Mask

Face mask for dry skin

1. Take 1 Table Spoon olive oil and mix with 2 tbsp of fresh cream, leave it on the face for 10 minutes and then wash your face with warm water.

2. Mix 1 Table Spoon of honey with 15 drops of orange juice and 1 Table Spoon of fuller’s earth and add 1 Table Spoon of rose water. Mix well and apply on the face, wash off after 10 miuntes.

Face mask for oily skin

1. Mix a Table Spoon of honey with 1 egg white and apply thickly on the face and neck. Leave for 10 minutes and wash off.

2. Mix 2 Table Spoon of papaya pulp with 10 drops of lemon juice and leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse well.

3. Take fresh juice of any of the fruits (orange, sweet lime, watermelon or papaya) and apply on the face as a mask. This is very relaxing, it cleanses the skin, closes pores and stimulates blood circulation.

Carrot Facial Mask


2 large carrots
4 Table Spoons honey

Cook carrots, then mash. Mix with honey. Apply gently to the skin, wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

Glowing Facial Mask


1 Table Spoon fuller's earth,
1 Table Spoon honey,
1 Table Spoon mashed papaya

Mix and put on face for 20 minutes then rinse off.

Honey Facial Mask

Place a cloth in warm water and apply to your face to open the pores. Smear on honey, and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes.

Rinse off with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores.
Use once a week.

Orange Yogurt Mask


1 Table Spoon plain yogurt,

The juice of 1/4 of an orange

Stir to mix and then dip fingers into mixture and smooth onto face. The sensation is both cool and relaxing. Leave on for a five minutes and then rinse. If you are feeling sluggish, this is the perfect mask for you.



3 Ripe Bananna,

2 Table Spoon Jaggery(Powdered),

1 Table Spoon Coconut,

2 Cardamom seeds chrushed,

1 Table Spoon Ghee


1.Slice bananna into bit size pieces, sprinkle jaggery, coconut and cardamom powder.

2. Add then add Ghee,mix well.

Note:Adjust Ingredients according to taste.

For Beautifull Hands

1.milk cream is good idea to get soft and beautiful hands. For a fresh feeling add a little lemon juice and glycerin to the milk cream. Rub this on hands at night.

2.Washing your hands with water mixed with vinegar or lemon juice is a good way to wash .This will give you beautiful hands.

3.Mix glycerin in rose water or cucumber juice. Dab a cotton wool in this mix and rub your hands will clean the skin and get smooth as well as beautiful hands.

4.Put almond oil and rub the skin on hands and fingers to get a beautiful hand.

Face Cleansing

1. Take 1 tbsp of un-boiled milk, dip a small pad of cotton wool in this and rub on the face gently. Use circular movements, use upward strokes on the neck area. Leave this on for 15 minutes. Wash with cold water

2.Halve a tomato, gently rub over face and neck and wash after 15 minutes.

3.Take a thick slice of cucumber. Don't peel the slice, rub in a circular motion all over the face and neck areas. Wash after 15 minutes.

4.Take the half of a lime peel, from which the juice has been extracted, rub this firmly on the face and the neck. Using a Scrub-(once in 3-4 days).

5.Rub the face well with an ice cube.

Tips for Eyes

1. Apply sunscreen every day and to what you can to keep out of the sun and exposing your face to the harmfull rays of the sun.

2. Regular exercise will improve blood circulation,rejunuvate your body and mind and help enhance your facial feautres. Facial exercise are also good idea.

3.Use specialized cleansers to remove your makeup. Soap and water are harsh and can irritate the eyes.

White Nails

  • Use a common whitening toothpaste. Try scrubbing your nails with Pearl Drops, it's just as easy as achieving a pearly white smile and will take away any stains and shine up your nails.

  • Soak your nails in water with lemon juice or lemon slices. The lemon acts as an astringent and will strip away stains. Once your hands are dry, you'll only need to put on a couple of coats of a clear topcoat

To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and
