1 Cup urad dal,

3 Cups rice,

1 Spoon ginger(Paste),

1/2 cup onions (chopped),

1/2 cup chopped tomato,

Chopped coriander leaves.

3 Chopped green chillies,

Salt to taste,

oil or ghee


1. Wash urad dal and rice separately.

2.Soak in water for 3 hours in two bowls.

3.Blend them separately to smooth paste using some water.Mix them and add the salt.Keep it for the whole night.

4.Mix the batter well next morning till it is sufficiently thick.

5.Mix the green chillies,tomato, onion, coriander leaves and ginger in a bowl.

6. Drop one cup of batter on a heated tava.Add a spoonful of ghee or oil,garnish with chopped onion,coriander leaves,green chilli,tomato.

7.Fry both sides on low flame.

8.Rub the tava gently with damp cloth to cool the surface,repeat the above step.

Note:Adjust ingredients according to taste.

We, Yashaswini and Jyothi who never entered kitchen and never knew how make a basic items to (not even coffee or Tea ;-)) before marraige now we are...well... say a good chef!!!
