Upma/Upittu


Ingredients:

1 cup Rava (Semolina)

3 cups Water

1/2 Tomato.

1 sChopped Onion,

piece of Ginger,

3 Curry leaves

Coriander leaves,

1 chopped Green Chilly,

1 Table Spoon Ghee,

3 Table Spoon Grated Coconut,

1/4 Table Spoon Mustard seeds,

Salt to taste,

2 Table Spoon Oil,

Method:

1.Add brava in a thick bottomed pan and fry it for around 3 to 4 minutes in medium flame till it gives nice aroma.
2.Add mustard seeds and oil in a thick bottomed pan. Once it starts spluttering, add curry leaves, green chilly, smashed ginger, onion and fry it for around 1-2 minutes.

3. Add 3 cups of water, salt and bring it to boil.

4.Add fried rava and stir the upma. Add grated coconut, ghee and mix well.

5.Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Keep in low flame for about 3 mins and keep stirring the Upma.
